Remember to Enjoy

Lately, I have been very miserable on court because I was putting way too much pressure on my performance. I was tying the success of my practices to how I played rather than focusing on improving my game. As you might've guessed, this is a recipe for playing worse and worse tennis, and that's exactly what happened over the past couple of days. However, today I had a little eureka moment.
I woke up for practice at 5:45 am, feeling exhausted because of poor sleep, and when I dragged myself to the courts at 6:45 am, I was ready to tank the practice. While warming up, I was questioning all my life decisions.
Thankfully, I managed to get a grip on myself and decided to accept the fact that I would probably have an awful practice. But if I didn't complain and did my best not to bring the team's energy down, it would be fine. And this is exactly what I did. My effort level wasn't the highest, but I stayed calm and found that I was enjoying the practice more and more as it went on. By the end of the session, I was thoroughly enjoying the doubles set we were playing and managed to have a great practice at the end.
Remember to enjoy what you are doing, because this is probably why you began doing it in the first place.
